Parkinson’s Awareness Month

For me, this picture from my wedding day really symbolizes my fight to help make lives better for those with Parkinsons. As a regional spokesperson for the Parkinson Society Central & Northern Ontario it’s been my mission to spread hope and awareness. And it all stems from the man you see in this shot. It has been three years since my Grandfather passed away from a valiant fight with the neurological disease. I say it came at us like a freight train. We had the rug pulled from beneath us after his diagnosis and continued to watch what was (for us) a fast deterioration. That doesn’t have to be your reality though. There is support with groups like the Parkinson Society. Reach out to your local chapter. Buy tulips this month when you see the volunteers at a busy hub near you. Check out great community events like the yearly Superwalk. I believe that more moments like the one in this picture can happen for the 100,000 Canadians living with Parkinsons. All while we never give up hope for a cure. This April is Parkinson Awareness month. Check out the Parkinson Society for more information, to donate to the cause or to get involved.

Best of video reel: 2015-2016

Have a peak at some of my favourite moments on The Weather Network this past year before my current maternity leave. Can’t wait to re-join the team later on this year.

Watch here!

HAMILTON MAGAZINE’S HOLIDAY ISSUE

I’m always thrilled to share this story. Thanks for including me in the “Best gift ever” feature in your Holiday Issue, Hamilton Magazine! It’s an honour to be one of the notable Hamiltonians you chose. Now… how do we top that next Christmas? 😉

Wow! Celebrity Momma!

A huge thanks goes out to the team at Urbanbaby&Toddler Magazine for  including as one of your celebrity parents. Check out the article here. And if you’re in Vancouver go pick up a copy of their latest issue! I had a blast talkin’ work-life balance and about everything from green screens to green smoothies!

But, I’m JUST one of the incredible mommas on the Weather Network roster. It’s SUCH an incredible team of talented people and I’m so proud to have both my family and the TWN family behind me… It takes a village!

TBT!!

I’m enjoying maternity leave right now with our second child. I’ll be back on TWN in the summer/fall of 2017 and I can’t wait to start talking weather again with you all. Meantime, I thought I’d take a little trip down memory lane — I just looked through all these old work pictures. From footie-fan days covering the 2010 World Cup, nationally for CBC, to reporting days all over the province of Ontario for CBC Windsor and briefly for CTV in Sudbury and some great print and commercial gigs too! Here are some snapshots!

Winter weather warrior

Well actually, it’s been a mild winter for much of Southern Ontario. However, it’s been a blast doing a bit of storm chasing and winter weather reporting on the road for the Weather Network when we have had some active weather. Normally you can find me in studio anchoring the weekend afternoon show from 12-2pm ET. Till then, bundle-up and stay-warm. And a huge thank you to Columbia Sportswear for outfitting all of our team at TWN to stay fashionable and prepared for elements!!
